Stress management is a critical component of pre-travel preparation that directly affects both the animal's welfare and the safety of everyone involved in the transport. Raccoons are intelligent, perceptive animals that respond strongly to changes in routine, unfamiliar environments, and confinement. A raccoon that is anxious, agitated, or fearful during transport poses significant handling risks due to the animal's powerful bite, sharp claws, and remarkable strength relative to its size.
